BirdLife Experts interviewed on Public Support for Renewable Energy

Posted on Thu, 16/01/2014

In October 2013, Dr. Ivan Scrase from the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, BirdLife UK, and Mr. Julien Jreissati from the Migratory Soaring Birds project were interviewed by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) on public support for renewable energy.

Dr. Scrase and Mr. Jreissati highlighted BirdLife International’s favorable position towards properly planned renewable energy development, that fully takes in consideration biodiversity and more specifically birds’ conservation, which is more susceptible to gain wider public acceptance and support.

These interviews were conducted during the “strengthening social acceptance and dispelling lingering misconceptions about renewable energy” workshop held in October 2013 in Abu Dhabi, UAE and organized by IRENA (see related story here).

All interviews conducted during the workshop are available on IRENA’s YouTube channel.
